What we keep, and why

Couple Games (couplegames.co) stores as little as the games need. This page says what that is, where it lives, who else sees it, and how to have it removed.

What is stored when you play

An anonymous user id, created the first time you open the site. It has no name or email attached unless you add one.
The room code, the display name you type, and when you joined.
Everything you enter in a game: answers, guesses, clues, verdicts, story lines, moves and scores. Your partner in the room can see the parts the game reveals to them, and only them.
An email address, only if you choose to add one to sync your rooms to another phone. It is used to send you a sign-in link and for nothing else.

We do not collect your contacts, your location, or anything from other apps.

Where it lives

Game data is stored with Supabase, a hosted database service, in its Singapore region. The site itself is served by Vercel. Both act as processors for us and do not use the data for their own purposes. Access rules in the database mean a room’s contents are readable only by the two members of that room.

Cookies and local storage

Your session token is kept in your browser’s local storage so you stay in your rooms between visits. Clearing site data signs that browser out of its rooms; add an email first if you want to get back in.

The site does not use analytics cookies of its own.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to show ads on some pages and to offer an optional rewarded ad in exchange for a hint. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Where the law requires it, a consent message is shown before any advertising cookie is set.

Who we share with

Nobody, beyond the providers above that run the service. We do not sell data, and we do not use game answers for anything except showing them to the two people in the room.

Deleting your data

Email hello@couplegames.co from the address you attached, or with the room code, and we will delete the room or the account and everything in it. Deleting a room removes it for both members.

Age

The games are written for adults in a relationship. The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly store their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything material will also be mentioned on the front page.
