Nobody else can write this quiz. You each put down a few questions about your shared history: the name of the place on your third date, what you argued about on the drive home, the song that was playing. Then you swap and answer from memory.

You judge the answers to your own questions, and close-enough spelling is accepted automatically, so a typo never costs a point.

How to play

  1. 1Pick Memory lane. Each of you writes a few questions with the answers you remember.
  2. 2The round opens once both of you have written. You cannot see theirs first.
  3. 3Answer your partner’s questions from memory.
  4. 4Judge the answers to yours. Near-misses in spelling are already counted as right.
  5. 5Write new questions next time; the old ones stay in your history.

Why couples like it

  • It is nostalgia as a game. Every round is a walk back through your relationship.
  • The questions are yours, so it is never generic.
  • Remembering something they had forgotten scores double, socially if not on the board.

Tips

  • Ask about details, not dates. “What did I spill on you?” beats “When did we meet?”
  • Mix easy ones with one that is genuinely hard.
  • Write your questions before you look at the round; the app makes you anyway.

Questions

Do we need to write the questions at the same time?
No. Each of you writes whenever you like; the round opens once both sets are in.
What if we spell an answer slightly differently?
Small differences (case, spaces, a letter or two) are accepted automatically. Anything further is up to the person who wrote the question.
How many questions per round?
A few each; enough for five minutes, not a whole evening. Play again with new ones.
